Another Cracking Weekend for Comeragh CC.

Another Cracking Weekend for Comeragh CC.

This weekend, May 7th & 8th brought us another flurry of positive results, but it wasn’t just a few good results from around Ireland, but some great news from much further a field too.

We once again had a good contingent of underage racing on Sunday, this time in Newcastle west, with Tomas Walsh taking home the best of the clubs results there with a fine 2nd place in the bunch sprint followed closely by Conor Coleman in 5th. Good job guys!

At the Deenside Wheelers Cup in Castlecomber we had racers in all four senior races on a bright sunny day. Best result on the day was Tagdh deBarra who continues his superb  run of good form coming home in a fine 4th position in the A2 race as he finalises his preparations for the An Post Rás in just a few short weeks.

Last but by no means least was Damien Vereker who along with his pilot Martin Mazgajski was competing on a tandem in a UCI para-cycling road World Cup in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa with a time trial on Saturday and a road race on Sunday

In Saturday’s Time Trial the lads came home in an excellent 3rd spot and weren’t the only Irish team on the podium with Peter Ryan with his pilot Sean Hahessy in 2nd spot.

Now that’s how to celebrate a win!!

A huge well done to Damien and Martin as Damien continues in his efforts to gain qualification to compete in and represent Ireland at this summer’s Paralympics in Rio.
